I loved the gentle sound of melting snow flowing through Nozawa’s little village, the faint scent of sulfur in the air, and skiers returning with their snowboards or towels in search of an onsen. Warmly lit izakayas lined the streets, along with Nozawa Gin, scented with local cedar.I’m not a drinker, but I love memories carried by taste and scent.
